I’m a Person Just Like You

I’ve felt the fear, experienced the biopsies, nausea, blood
draws, lost sleep and endless medications. I’ve hung
anxiously in the limbo land between tests and results, spent
hours in waiting and treatment rooms and lived through the
sickness, headaches, dizzy spells, rigors, night sweats and
chills. I know what it’s like to be so frightened you can
hardly speak, so sore you can hardly move and so anxious
that you physically shake -- to feel like you’ve lost control of your life and to wonder if
you’ll ever, ever get it back. After treatment, I was so weak that my biggest challenge
was being able to stand in the shower long enough to wash – and I had stood on the top of
Mount Everest! My family and friends visited, called, sent cards and wrote letters and
emails, but basically I marked time.
During this challenging period, which lasted about five years, I could have benefited
greatly from the guidance of someone who’d been there before me, who had climbed
back from cancer and who had emerged triumphant – in other words, a skilled and
experienced coach. Sadly, I was unable to find such a person. So, I kept groping my way
along doing everything in my power to stay alive and slowly, through trial and error (way
too much error) I clawed my way back.

Giving You the Tools You Need to Triumph
Now I’ve climbed back – completely. I’ve been cancer-free for more than
eight years and I’m officially medically cured. I am as energetic, strong, fit
and healthy as before my illness. And I want to help you survive to thrive
too – a lot faster and better than I did. I don’t want you to struggle like I did.
I want you to return to your life with less effort in less time. I want to give
you the tools you need to triumph without me.

Training Your Brain
Rather than teaching you how to fight, I’ll show you how to train your brain to prevail. I
believe in the power of your mind, the strength of your body and the almost limitless
capacity of your spirit to rise to the challenge of change. These qualities helped get me
through three Everest expeditions, safely to and from the top of the world and an even
longer and harder climb back from cancer.

I Want You to Climb Back Too
